  • 200 grams of butter
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 150 grams of flour
  • 50 grams of corn flour
  • 1/2 packet of baking powder
  • 1 kg of apples

You’ll also need some butter or margarine to grease the baking pan and, if you want to sweeten the apple pie, a little sugar for scraping.

Basic recipe: How to make a sunken apple pie with just a few ingredients

  1. Preheat the oven – top/bottom heat 180°C, fan 160°C.
  2. Place the butter in a bowl. It should be soft. If you don’t take them out of the fridge or freezer in time, you can simply reheat them in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave. Add sugar and mix until smooth.
  3. Beat the eggs one by one and add the flour, cornstarch and breadcrumbs. It is good to sift the flour from baking to avoid lumps.
